This large, sunny apartment is located in a wonderfully-maintained historic building that dates back 7 centuries. It has been recently remodeled in a beautiful, traditional Tuscan style that has been updated with modern touches. The apartment has two large sitting areas, an office space, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 2 sleeper sofas. It sleeps 6 people comfortably. The apartment is right in the city center, so you are close to everything Lucca has to offer!
Since you are in the heart of Lucca, you’re just a 1-minute walk from 3 small grocers, and only a 2-minute stroll from 5 or 6 cafes, the main cathedral, 10 restaurants, and a number of shops. It doesn’t get more central than this!
The kitchen is fully-equipped with a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, 4-burner gas stove top, oven, coffeemaker, microwave, and dining table, as well as brand-new cookware and serving utensils. There is a dishwasher, a washing machine, a new LG smart TV, and if there’s something that you need that you don’t see listed here, just ask us and we’ll see what we can do. We also provide you with starter amounts of the basics like local olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, coffee, tea, and sugar.
The master bedroom has a new bed and a giant closet with full-length mirrors. The ensuite master bathroom is beautifully decorated in marble tile and is equipped with a bathtub + shower, sink, toilet, and bidet.
The second bedroom offers sleeping for two people in twin beds and has its own ensuite bathroom complete with shower, toilet, sink, and bidet. The beds can also be combined to create a queen bed upon request.
The living areas each have a sleeper sofa; one is a queen-sized sleeper sofa, the other is smaller and better suited to one adult or 2 children, plus there is an additional full bathroom, complete with shower, located in the common area.
The bedrooms and living areas are equipped with air conditioning. The bedrooms have new mattresses and new pillows and are furnished with all new 160 thread count 100% cotton linens, your choice of down or synthetic filled duvets, and your choice of synthetic or down pillows.
You are only a 6-8 minute walk from the train station or the bus station that will take you to Pisa, Viareggio, Firenze, Cinque Terre, and all over Tuscany and the Garfagnana.
We can also make suggestions for guided wine tastings, tours, airport transfers, babysitting, and more, so don’t hesitate to ask how we can make your trip better!

The apartment is independent (not shared with any other units in the building). It has independent heating & A/C and its own washing machine.

As much or as little as you like! One of us is always available for questions, or we can leave you to explore on your own. Whatever you prefer.

We can occasionally offer discounts for long-stay travelers who will not need both bedrooms/bathrooms. Please message for details. If you prefer to use Airbnb, the unit is also available here.
*Please note* that due to extreme volatility in energy prices, we require guests to be careful in their energy consumption, which includes turning off AC and heat when leaving the apartment for the day and, when possible, using large appliances (running the dishwasher, etc) in the nighttime hours. Guests are allotted 300 MC/month in the winter months. As long as you are dress appropriately and you turn off the heat when you leave, there is no need to be concerned about gas usage.

Spectacular apartment. Absolutely loved th location, the design and spacious layout of the apartment. We spent 4 weeks and didn’t want to leave. Vanessa is amazing and made sure everything was perfect during our stay.

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in May and we really enjoyed our time there. The location is excellent and the apartment nice, spacious, and clean. We especially liked the small grocery stores right across the street and two doors down from the entry into the apartment, as the food was excellent and it allowed us to easily have meals in the apartment. My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in May and we really enjoyed our time there. The location is excellent and the apartment nice, spacious, and clean. We especially liked the small grocery stores right across the street and two doors down from the entry into the apartment, as the food was excellent and it allowed us to easily have meals in the apartment. And I can’t say enough good things about Vanessa. She was very helpful with the booking of the apartment and settling us into our apartment. She is also extremely nice and easy going. This is definitely now our permanent vacation rental in Lucca, Italy for as long as you all keep renting it out. We’ll be back in a year or two.

What an incredible stay! Our Lovely Lucca home only made it very difficult to leave, we stayed for a full month and didn’t want to leave (seriously, I easily would cancel my next Country to just stay in Lucca).

What an incredible stay! Our Lovely Lucca home only made it very difficult to leave, we stayed for a full month and didn’t want to leave (seriously, I easily would cancel my next Country to just stay in Lucca).
Our Hosts, Vanessa and Elena, are incredible women. Communication was beyond excellent, we were traveling during Covid and couldn’t have asked for more of a stress free experience with their understanding of potential issues. Their goal is to make you really feel at home, plus they provide great Concierge services regarding recommendations or seeking out other resources. We had a full kitchen which is fundamental for us as we enjoy shopping and cooking in our home as much as eating out. Our apartment Dina was so spacious which allowed for true rest and relaxation (difficult when in Lucca as you always want to be outdoors!). The beds were very comfortable which I don’t say lightly since often we have encountered beds that are so soft we have backaches daily. There was ample storage with dressers and storage closets and the bathroom were clean, no odors (trust me, way too often we encounter sewage odors in Italy) and the bathtub was wonderful! The bedrooms look out onto the street which adds to the overall charm!
The kitchen was quite large for food prep and well equipped, for those who still want an Americana coffee pot, one is available, along with a Moka pot. The pantry has ample staples you need to get going.
Directly out the front door is a fabulous butcher who also sells pantry staples, a little produce shop, great clothing stores and everything is a quick walk away!
Lucca is magical. Home of 101 Churches, Puccini and a true walled City, there is always something to do. Rent bikes and ride along the gorgeous wall (or walk), go to a different Puccini concert every night, take a cooking class, train to Pisa (30 mins), bus to the beach at Viareggio (45 mins), there’s a very large antique/flea market on the weekends in one of the Piazza’s, two cinemas, one has a movie in English a few times a month, listen to live music on the streets and learn how to “stroll at a snails pace” and take it all in. Of course Gelato and Coffee awaits you everywhere.
It was wonderful to come home daily to a place that allowed us to settle in and feel completely immersed in Lucca.
Not only will we be back, but we may be moving and hope to call one of the apartments our home!

We spent almost two months here and would highly recommend this apartment. Right in the center of of the historic center, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Elena and Vanessa are good hosts, they communicate well and promptly to any questions, greeted us, and made us feel welcome. This was our second visit to Lucca and it is a delightful and unique city.

Nice big place that’s well furnished and decorated – three full bathrooms! Great location in central Lucca, everything is just a few minutes walk away. Hosts were super cool. Very responsive to questions and even helped us with some translation so we could locate relatives nearby. That was above and beyond!
